Breakdown on Trips in Luxor
Back to Luxor
|
|
Here is a few examples of the cost of trips
done with a tour operator and what you can do it for yourself.
As you will see there are big savings to be
made if you team up with someone and make sure that the taxi
is full when you go on a trip.
(As you are aware
things go up in price so these prices could be slightly higher
by the time of your holiday, but things don't change very
much, only the tour operator prices .The do it yourself prices
to my knowledge are correct as of 12/01/02)

Trip to Cairo from Luxor
Check
the price that your tour
operator wants to charge by air and compare to travel
by train. The cost of return fare 1st class is £25
(125le), as this is done at night if your require
a sleeper it will cost a lot more. This is not a problem
to do by yourself, book return seat as soon as you
arrive in Cairo. Its a lot cheaper than going by air.
Plane to Cairo from Luxor around £80 each way
|
Trip to Aswan from Luxor
Again there is great
savings to be made if you travel by train cost
about £17 (90le) return fare
|
Trip to Red Sea from Luxor
If you find that the
tour operator's charge is high ,try
the bus the
fare is about £9 (45le) each way.(I was told
this price by someone who did the trip,he had no complaints
and said he would do again when he returns to Egypt.)
The bus station is in the center of Luxor behind the
Luxor Temple
